    HUL preview: Urban slowdown to impact Q3 numbers

    A slowdown in urban demand will likely impact Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL)‘s revenue in Q3 FY25. Revenue is expected to grow by 3 per cent to ₹16,050 crore in the quarter that ended on December 31. 

    According to analysts, the rural market performed better than urban areas during the quarter, single-digit volume growth was witnessed with price increases taken in soaps and tea categories.

    “Gross margins are expected at 49.5 per cent as compared to 50.6 per cent Y-o-Y, competition across categories to weigh t on demand. Higher royalty rates and termination of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)‘s consumer distribution could impact the margins,” according to mentions HDFC Securities. Read more

    L&T Finance Q3 results Live Updates: Net profit dips 2%, shares end positive

    L&T Finance shares dipped 3 per cent to hit an intra-day low of ₹140 on the NSE, a day after the company reported a 2.2 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended December 2024 at ₹626.40 crore as against ₹640.18 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. 

    Total revenue from operations stood at ₹4,097.58 crore in the December 2024 quarter, compared to ₹3,533.96 crore in the same previous quarter.

    It included interest income of ₹3,806.38 crore (₹3,306.30) in the period under review.

    Retail loan disbursements stood at ₹15,2210 crore during Q3FY25, up 5 per cent y-o-y. Retail loans were up 23 per cent at 92,224 crore as of December 2024, constituting 97 per cent of the total loan book.

    L&T Finance Q3 results: Net profit dips 2%, shares end positive

    L&T Finance shares dipped 3 per cent to hit an intra-day low of ₹140 on the NSE, a day after the company reported a 2.2 per cent decline in net profit for the quarter ended December 2024 at ₹626.40 crore as against ₹640.18 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. 

    Total revenue from operations stood at ₹4,097.58 crore in the December 2024 quarter, compared to ₹3,533.96 crore in the same previous quarter.

    Zomato Q3 results live: Zomato shares continue to slump for 2nd day; plunge 12 pc - PTI

    Shares of food tech unicorn Zomato plummeted 12 per cent in the morning trade on Tuesday after the food delivery aggregator reported a 57.2 per cent drop in consolidated net profit for the December quarter to Rs 59 crore.

    The scrip of the company fell 11.81 per cent to Rs 212.50 apiece on the BSE.

    On the NSE, shares of Gurugram-headquartered Zomato depreciated by 9.99 per cent to hit its lower circuit level of Rs 215.80 per piece.

    On Monday, shares of Zomato settled more than 3 per cent lower on the bourses.

    In two days, the company’s market capitalisation (mcap) got eroded by Rs 35,175.53 crore to Rs 2,04,876.94 crore.

    Meanwhile, shares of Swiggy also declined over 10 per cent on the stock exchanges after its peer competitor Zomato reported a slowdown in its business.

    On the BSE, Swiggy’s shares depreciated 10.47 per cent to trade at Rs 428.85 apiece. The scrip of the company decreased 9.91 per cent to Rs 431.70 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

    Further, this is the biggest single-day drop for Swiggy’s shares since its listing last year.

    However, Swiggy is yet to announce the date to declare its December quarter results.

    The 30-share BSE Sensex slumped 710.60 points or 0.92 per cent to trade at 76,362.84, while NSE Nifty fell 141.85 points or 0.61 per cent to 23,202.90 in the morning trade.

    On Monday, food tech unicorn Zomato reported a 57.2 per cent drop in consolidated net profit for the December quarter to Rs 59 crore, with its margins facing pressure due to aggressive store expansion to meet orders from its quick-commerce platform Blinkit.

    The company had earned a net profit of Rs 138 crore in the year-ago period.

    The company’s consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs 5,405 crore, as against Rs 3,288 crore in the December quarter of the previous financial year.

    However, during the quarter under review, Zomato’s total expenses also shot up to Rs 5,533 crore, from Rs 3,383 crore in the corresponding period of 2023-24.

    The revenue-reporting segments for the group include India food ordering and delivery; hyperpure supplies (B2B business); quick commerce; Going out; and All other segments (residual).

    Real estate developer Oberoi Realty reported a 72 per cent increase in consolidated net profit in the third quarter of FY25, with revenue rising 34 per cent as the company completed and delivered more houses in the quarter. The company reported a net profit of ₹618.4 crore on revenue of ₹1,411 crore.

    The major portion of its revenues came from its residential and office segment at ₹1,357.4 crore, with the hospitality segment accounting for ₹54 crore, the segmental break-up showed.

    Its operating margin surged to 60.67 per cent from 48.34 per cent year ago, while the net profit margin was 42.35 per cent (33.36 per cent).

    Karur Vysya Bank Q3 results live: Stock trades flat

    Karur Vysya Bank stock traded flat on the NSE at ₹224.76. The bank had reported a 20 percent rise in net profit at ₹496 crore for the third quarter of this fiscal, compared to ₹412 crore in the same period last year. The growth was driven by higher interest income and non-interest income.

    Net interest income increased by 7.79 per cent to ₹1,079 crore compared to ₹1,001 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Net interest margin stood at 4.03 per cent, down from 4.32 per cent in the same quarter last year. The cost of deposits rose by 41 basis points to 5.66 per cent compared to 5.25 per cent in the previous year. The yield on advances remained unchanged at 10.16 per cent.
